BonjourLaRiviereBonjour la rivière, a beloved children’s book published by New Brunswick-based publishing house Bouton d’Or Acadie, will now be included in the Bienvenue à la maternelle program. This coast-to-coast program, along with its English counterpart, Welcome to Kindergarten, distributes educational kits to families with children who will be starting kindergarten in the fall. Bouton d’Or also created an educational activity sheet to accompany the book in the kits.

“The inclusion of Bonjour la rivière is an important part of our ongoing program efforts to honour and share rich cultural activity that continually emerges from regions across the country. It has been a great pleasure to partner with New Brunswick’s Bouton d’or Acadie and bring some of their francophone cultural gifts to the national stage,” says John Howard, National Program Manager for Bienvenue à la maternelle and Welcome to Kindergarten.

Originally published in 2006 by author Denise Paquette and illustrator Denise Bourgeois, Bonjour la rivière follows two curious children, Lea and Laurent, as they discover nature and enjoy outdoor activities.
