Shortlisted for both the Margaret and John Savage First Book Award and Atlantic Book Award for Scholarly Writing, Erin Wunker, author of Notes from a Feminist Killjoy, will be doing a reading and discussion of feminism. Award-winning journalist and best-selling author Phonse Jessome will read from Disposable Souls, shortlisted for the 2017 Jim Connors Dartmouth Book Award for Fiction. He will also deliver a talk that explores the social value of Noir fiction as a form of journalism that examines the many ills in our society. Books will be available for sale from Bookmark II.
The Awards will be given out in Paul O’Regan Hall, Halifax Central Library, on Thursday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m.
