As part of our Welcome Wednesdays program, Briana Corr Scott will be in our Small Craft Gallery as part of our February theme: Voyage of Imagination! Her love of painting began early in life, and continued during her studies at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. She moved to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in 2006, where she lives with her husband and three young children.
Briana works from a home studio, and her paintings and poems are inspired by the natural world, particularly the Nova Scotia coast. She Dreams of Sable Island is her first book.
Join Briana at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic for a short reading and colouring activity related to her magical story about Sable Island. Her book will be in the Marine Heritage Gift Store for purchase and she will be available for an autograph signing.
Welcome Wednesdays is a seasonal program geared for children five years of age and younger to play, explore and read in our Small Craft Gallery. They can visit the museum for free anytime! Daycares and home schools are welcome to attend this program, please contact us in advance to prepare for your visit! Call us at 902-424-7491 for more details.
