After a lovely fall in much (if not all) of Atlantic Canada our attention is now slowly turning to the holiday season and what to buy family and friends on our lists. To help you with that we suggest you get a cup or glass (or two) of your favourite beverage and sit down with the Book Lovers’ Holiday Gift Guide (print copies are available at bookstores and libraries across the region). Inside you’ll find more than 100 new books sure to delight even the most difficult-to-buy-for person.
Need something for a social justice warrior? Turn to page 14. Someone on your list love secrets and puzzles? Check out page 12. Love a good crime story? Page 4. Do you need a present for a foodie? Flip to page 6. Looking for books for kids or teens? Check out pages 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 15. Need something for Great Uncle Jack? There are lots for him too. The writers and publishers of Atlantic Canada have produced books for everyone and the best are inside our guide. You’ll find these books and more in every section of the bookstore–don’t forget to check out the local interest section.
Just imagine, all of your gift shopping completed after one stop at your local bookshop. That leaves lots of time to enjoy the holiday season and to sit curled up in your living room, by the tree with a book and a cup or glass of your favourite beverage. And, if your favourite beverage is craft beer–well there’s a book for that, too.
Oh, and if I’m on your list please pay particular attention to books on pages 3 through 16.
Wishing all of you a joyous holiday season curled up with lots of great books.
