The Word On The Street will once again hold the popular Book Club Boat Cruise on the Halifax Harbour on Sunday, September 21st. Like previous years, book clubs from across Atlantic Canada get exclusive backstage access to headliner authors on a one-hour cruise aboard the Tall Ship Silva. Sponsored by Waterfront Development and Murphy’s on the Water, the cruise is always a big hit!

Participating authors include Michael Winter (Minister Without Portfolio), Lesley Crewe (Chloe Sparrow), Vincent Lam (The Headmaster’s Wager) and Kate Pullinger (Landing Gear). The cruise host is Costas Halavrezos (Seasoned: Recipes and Essays from the Spiceman)

To participate, book clubs are asked to visit the Word On The Street’s website and fill out a quick form, indicating which author they would like to meet. Book clubs chosen to participate will receive two signed copies of the author’s book, and enjoy an hour-long cruise with their selected author. They will also have the opportunity to mix and mingle with the other authors and book club members on the voyage. The first 125 book club members to apply will be registered for this VIP event!

AND – don’t forget to sign up for Atlantic Books Today‘s book club newsletter. Fill in this short form to receive Book Club Insider packed with reviews and news just for book clubs!

All events and activities at Word On The Street are free. The festival will be held from 11am to 5pm, Sunday September 21st, on the picturesque Halifax waterfront (rain or shine). Authors, exhibitors, and other information can be found at Join us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.
